Construction of the Phase I of pedestrian crossing safety improvements are planned to begin Friday, February 23, 2024 through March 8, 2024 at 11 intersection locations Citywide. This project will include the installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacon systems, updated signage, and improved striping to enhance pedestrian safety at uncontrolled crosswalks. The project also includes the replacement of the existing water filled barriers at Hermosa Avenue and 6th Street with landscaped planters.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Community Impact:

• Temporary sidewalk closures
• Temporary lane closures
• Temporary NO PARKING where posted with signs
• Intermittent loud construction noises (especially during demolition)
• Minimal dust or smell
