HERMOSA BEACH, CA – The City of Hermosa Beach this week mailed residents the renewal applications for the 2019-2020 Residential Parking Permits and encouraged them to apply by mail or online at our Residential Parking Permit Website.

Over-the-counter sales will begin at 7 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, at City Hall, 1315 Valley Drive, Room 101, Hermosa Beach, CA. They will continue Monday through Thursday during normal office hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
To renew an existing residential permit, residents will need the renewal postcard from the City and a valid ID or current proof of residency, such as a utility bill, that is dated in the last 30 days. Residential permits cost $40. Enforcement of the new parking permits will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20.
Employees who work in “impacted areas” of Hermosa Beach may purchase an employee parking permit at City Hall if they provide a valid ID, vehicle registration and a current pay stub indicating they work in Hermosa Beach. Those permits cost $143.
Residential and Employee Parking Permits are available to those who live and work in the “impacted area.” The impacted area is within the City’s north and south boundaries from the Strand on the west side and Loma Drive, Park Avenue or Morningside Drive on the east side. Also included is the east and west side of Cypress Avenue between 11th Street and Pier Avenue. A permit exempts the vehicle from the one-hour parking restrictions in residential areas and allows free parking at 24-hour street meters (designated with yellow poles/yellow meter caps). The permits are not valid in the two-hour and three-hour parking zones. Permit holders still must comply with street sweeping restrictions and state law limiting parking to 72 hours.
For further information on the City’s parking permit program, please visit our Residential Parking Permit Webpage or call 310-318-0217, 310-318-0251 or 310-318-0211.
